Angelina Ballerina: Stars of Tomorrow Program

The Tidewater Dance Theater, Inc. (TDT) was founded in April 1973 by Elizabeth Evans, owner of Northampton Dance Studios of Hampton and Newport News. The studios are the official school of the Tidewater Dance Theater, Inc. Seeing a need in the community for a dance company to offer local dancers more performing opportunities and to increase awareness of the benefits of dance, she established TDT as a civic, non-profit organization open to area dancers who had received the required level of proficiency.

Fifteen local dancers were selected as charter members and an honorary Board of Directors was established. The company has produced many full-length contemporary, ballet and theatrical works over the years and performed for many community events and charity events locally and throughout the surrounding areas. The company has also traveled and performed abroad showcasing a variety of creative and performing talent.

The company is composed of dancers who have reached the required level of proficiency as needed for projects or performances.
